LAKE WORTH — Children dug through a layer of mulch to set plants into the soil on a recent Friday afternoon at the Sunflower Garden, a small rectangular plot of city-owned land at Sixth Avenue North and E Street where residents grow cilantro, collard greens, cabbage and other edibles on mulched berms shaded by trees.
